The Benefits of Slatted Fencing

A Simple Guide
A guide to the benefits of installing slatted fencing
What Is Slatted Fencing?
Slatted fencing is a modern, stylish boundary solution made using P.A.R. landscaping battens. Designed for horizontal or vertical installation, it can feature open gaps or a double-sided design, creating an attractive finish on both sides.

At Main Line Timber, we supply a range of green-treated slatted fencing styles to suit different garden designs, including slatted landscaping fencing, panels and matching gates. The slats are typically between 45mm - 47mm wide, with a 10mm gap, offering a clean, contemporary look while allowing light and air to pass through.
What Are the Benefits of Slatted Fencing?
A Modern, Stylish Look
Slatted fencing offers a contemporary alternative to traditional fence panels, combining clean lines with a sleek, modern aesthetic. Its versatile design complements a variety of garden styles, providing an attractive boundary that enhances the overall appearance of your outdoor space.
Weather-Resistant
Both single and double-sided slatted fencing allow airflow and natural light to pass through while providing a degree of privacy. Unlike solid fence panels, which can act like sails in strong winds, slatted designs allow air to pass through the gaps, reducing wind resistance and pressure on the panels, fixings and supporting posts.
This makes slatted fencing a practical choice for exposed or elevated gardens prone to strong gusts, helping to reduce the risk of panels bowing or becoming dislodged.
Creating a Sense of Space
Installing slats horizontally can make a smaller garden feel wider and more open by drawing the eye sideways and creating a visual sense of expansion. The clean, continuous lines help create a spacious feel, making slatted fencing a great choice for compact outdoor spaces.
Choosing the Right Slatted Fencing for Your Garden
Whether you're looking for slatted fence panels, fencing or matching gates, there are options to suit a variety of garden styles. Slatted fencing can enhance a contemporary garden or add a fresh, modern touch to a traditional setting, providing an elegant and versatile boundary.
